Vacuum modulator on 4l60e, anyone do it??
Looking for any comments or insight as I'm having a 383 with 10 psi of boost put in. The present transmission is still ok, but may not be up to an extra 100 hp.
FYI, the current transmission has a .500 boost valve, 6 frictions in the 3 - 4 clutch pack, the 2nd apply servo is a Superior 7012 "super hold", a mild SK shift kit is in there as well, and the 3rd clutch release springs are the heavy duty ones from a trans go kit.
I've also bumped up all the pressure tables and temperature tables about 20% with the LT1 editor.
I thought I posted this in the drive train section ... move it if appropriate.
Any thoughts ??
thx

i'v had a vacum modulator for a couple years now have never had a prob. wit it. works well it gives you more psi when you need it. i like it. also on the pressure i had harend steel pump drive, vains ect.. and pressure is abour 300psi at wot. keeps 3rd from slipping also.
and if you want more ar less psi you can change the spring in the modulator
