trying to take transmission off block...
trying to take transmission off block...
Has anyone done this or does anyone know where there is a how to? I am un mating the transmission from the block right now and for some reason it just will not come out, the engine hoist has the motor on it, and we are wiggling the transmission out as we try. it just feels like there is a pin keeping it in the transmission. any advice is appreciated.
thanks
thanks

no, i do not see how to remove the shift fork at all. Can someone enlighten me please? I have the shifter assembly off, but not the shift fork yet. that is the thing that goes where the clutch release is im guessing? We have angled it every way, and can compress the spring half the way but cant see a bolt to remove it.

I assume you've removed the slave cylinder.. at this point the clutch fork is visible, just pull down on it and it will disengage.

wow thanks for the guide... my question is I have the bellhousing unbolted from the block, and I am guessing you cant just bolt it back up, disengage that shift fork, then unbolt it again and pull it out? or is this possible?
thanks again
thanks again
Re: trying to take transmission off block...
You should remove the transmission from the bellhousing separately.
Remove shift fork, unbolt the tranny from the bellhousing, then pull back on the tranny and get it out of the way.. then yank the bellhousing.
