Transmission or Tune Problem

Info

1. 101k on the 4L60E
2. last fluid flush was at 35k
3. car sat for a year
4. car is running now, in OD shifts fine until WOT and then wont shift until I let off gas at about 4500 rpm
5. when I manually start in 1 then 2 then 3 it takes a second to shift
6. tranny never acted up until now

Questions

1. will a flush and filter change save it
2. could the shift points on the tuned PCM be off
3. should I just rebuild the SOB

Thanks

Re: Transmission or Tune Problem

lol @ bueller
one of the more fancier ways to say, ttt

transmissions last a hell of alot longer if you flush the fluid every 30k miles or so

i say change the fluid, see what happens, sometimes changing the fluid may not be able to save the tranny but it could hold it out a while longer

if the battery has been disconnected that may have effected your shift points, the computer will need time to relearn your driving habits

last resort, rebuild

Re: Transmission or Tune Problem

Thanks for reply. Do you think my loud exhaust could be pulling too much timing? Is an LT4 knock module in order?

Re: Transmission or Tune Problem

maybe its the lack of sleep i've been having, but i can;t think of anyway your exhaust system can effect your ignition timing

and an lt4 knock module is used to prevent the computer from falsely detecting a knock when you have roller rockers, which you don't have listed in your list of mods

also, if you don't want anger other members of the board, please wait 24hrs for a response before bumping your thread To The Top (ttt)
