Question Transmission tailshaft housing gasket?

Where can I buy the transmission tailshaft housing gasket?
Not the seal but the gasket on the back of the transmission
right above the transmission mount.
My transmission is leaking from that gasket.
Thanks,

Chris G.

GM PART # 1358899 for the case extension to case seal, if you want to go to a dealer. It's a big o-ring thing.

Ive rarely seen that seal leak. You sure its not coming from somewhere else? Maybe the vent on top? Back of the pan gasket? Speedo o-ring?

Yea that's where the leak is the transmission tailshaft housing.
The transmission is clean and bone dry.
It's leaked on my mount that's why it went bad on me about 6 month's ago.
I guess I will have to go to the chevy dealer on monday and get the
Big O ring like Rob said.
Thanks Rob.

Re: Transmission tailshaft housing gasket?

i had that same problem... turns out my tailshaft was warped somehow! had to replace the whole thing to get it to stop leaking *shrug* guess that explains why my trans mount was broke too i guess it warped that and broke the mount at the same time... but i hope thats not your problem too, i got lucky and the shop i had it in took care of it free cause he happened to have one in good shape lying around .. (it took us 4 seals before we figured out it wasnt the seal itself lol)
