I am having issues with the transmission in my 97 Z28 Camaro. The gears are slipping and I can only take off in 1st gear and manually shift up to second and then drive and over drive. I cannot take off in Drive nor Overdrive. From what I have been reading is that these transmissions are known for this kind of mishap. I am curious if the transmission from a LS1 can be swapped with a transmission form a LT1.

Any help would be great.
