transmission magnets??

transmission magnets??

hey guys, while removing my transmission two magnets fell out and i didnt see where they belonged? Where should they be and how do they fit? do they sit on top of each other? side by side? thanks

They sit in the transmission pan. I only had one in mine but they are there to attract any metal shavings that may flow through the tansmission fluid. You can clean them off and put them back when you replace the pan.

thanks, just set them down in there anywhere? do i have to worry about hitting gears or anything?

I believe you can park them anywhere on the bottom of the pan, just not under the pick up.

General info: The magnets in a 6 spd are located side-by-side in slots near the rear of the main case...on the bottom, of course
