Transmission

Hi, I'm new to this site. I have a problem with the transmission dipstick comming up out of the tube on my 95 z28. has anyone else had this problem and know what is causing it. thanks

Yup, sounds like you need a new transmission.

Thats a joke. Every Camaro that I know of does that. Newer chevy vehicles come with a locking dipstick. Thats probably why.

I suppose it could just be a design flaw in the way the trans releases pressure. not sure where the 4L60E vents at.

There is a vent tube on top of the tranny! About 6-8" down from the top bellhousing bolt, near the top center of the tranny, this might have become clogged or crimped in some way!
