transco shift kit
transco shift kit
anyone with any info. on this problem would be awesome, here is what's going on....... I have a '01 z28 Camaro, i had a transco shift kit put into it; what's happening to the car is when i take off, between 1st and 2nd gear the car bogs down, if i take my foot off of the gas pedal and then return it to the pedal the car is fine. I was told that i have a torque management system on my car, i was also told that it can be removed or gotten around so that the car does not do this anymore, does anyone know how to get around this torque management system??
Not to be rude, but it's a Transgo shift kit...
Torque Management system huh? It's possible someone is feeding you some BS. Maybe traction control (ASR) is a torque management system? Start doing some reading in the various forums on this website. Learn as much as you can, educate yourself. As for your problem, i couldnt tell you.

.Torque Management is a legitimate issue/feature. It's programmed into the computer from the factory so that the engine's power is reduced just before the transmission shifts so that the tranny isn't subjected to the full ~300 HP/TQ during the shift. I believe the computer simply retards the timing momentarily, and you do feel the sensation that the car stops accelerating for a moment. Not all programmers can remove the torque management, but I believe that LT1/LS1 Edit can do it, as well as maybe the Predator programmer?

That is likely the symptom you're experiencing

Here's a quick TM explanation from the '02 manual:

The Predator base tune "revises" TM settings, I had mine completely removed when I got my custom tune.
