trans swap

I have a 94 vette 4l60e that I'm going to put into a 95 camaro. This is part of a motor swap i'm doing. A few questions that I need answered are as follows:

1. I know the tailhousing is different- would it be plausible to use it anyway and if so would the camaro trans crossmember and mount work?

2. Are there provisions for the torque arm on the vette trans tailhousing? (The trans is at the shop right now so I can't look at it and I haven't been able to find any pictures of a vette 4l60e on line)

3. I also know that the tailhousing and output shaft are different length than the f-body- if I use the vette tailhousing, would I just be able to have my stock z drive shaft lengthened and solve that problem?

4. If the answer to the preceeding questions are no- Is it possible to, and or, how easy is to change out the tailhousing and output shaft to camaro spec?

sidenote- I'm using a 94 z28 ecm and wiring harness so I shouldn't have issues with wiring or trouble codes.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You can't do both...You can't put a Camaro tailhousing on a Corvette transmission, and use a lengthened driveshaft. Yes, the Vette trans output shaft is shorter, and it's tailhousing has no provisions for a torque arm. Your transmission case won't work either. It has no provisions to bolt a mount to, where the Camaro needs it.

You have to disassemble the entire transmission to change the output shaft, and the case.

Thanks Frank, that's kind of what I figured, looks like I'll be looking for a new tranny.

Well, it has been concluded that I need a different trans. Can I use any 4l60e out of 93-97 z28's/ta's or do I have to use one from a 94 or 95? Are there differences between these years (sensors, etc)? Not to mention, If anyone needs a 94 vette 4l60e and lives in Michigan- send me a pm because it's for sale.

input greatly appreciated
