trans removal

(94 camaro z28, Auto)
im about to remove my trans to have it shipped out to be rebuilt. i was wondering if anyone could tell me how hard it is and stuff i should be careful of. any advice is helpful...thanks

i just did mine in my 93z its not too hard, i did it in my driveway which is always fun.

just pm me if you have any specific questions.

the only thing thats a pain is the bellhousing bolts.

Yep. You'll need several ratchet extensions to get the top ones off.

A transmission jack helps a lot, too. Preferably one with multi-axis tilt, especially when it comes time to put it back on. I picked one up from Harbor Freight before we did mine:

(They don't have the exact one I bought -- that one is newer, has a higher lift capacity, and looks like it's a little easier to work with)

Yep. You'll need several ratchet extensions to get the top ones off.
If you got small hands, you should be able to get those from the top while laying across the motor with a combination wrench not very comfortable, but easier than trying to reach them from the bottom imo

I'll have to look under my hood to try to see what you're talking about, but I just can't imagine this working at all.

Lower the tranny and then get the cooler lines. Those are a PITA.

I'm thinking about dropping the engine and trans to change mine.
I want to do some other stuff at the same time
compression test,plug wires, gaskets, and what ever else iv forgotten
