Are the trans mounts from pep boys just as good as the dealer (for a ls1)

Just called Pep Boys to see if they stock a tranny mount for a LS1 ( part number 622817) and to my suprise they do
I wanted to replace my polly mount in my lt1 to see if i can get rid of some vibs at idle (yeah i am going soft )

What the main diff between a lt1 tranny mount over the LS1?

Are these mounts just as good as what the dealer offers???

I find it strange that they would stock a tranny mount for a ls1 but not a LT.

Thanks
Jim

I believe that pepboys just like auto zone have the energy suspension poly mount that they call "stock" found out when autozone told me they had one in stock. Go to NAPA I bought one for a 97 there for my LS1. And yes, its rubber not poly. It cost me 19 dolla.

I'm fairly positive that all GM Rearwheel drive V8 cars in recent history use the same universal tranny mount.
The Autozone/Pep Boys ones are typically an Energy Suspension Poly mount.

If you're concerned about vibration just shave the pre-load bumps and do NOT use the metal plate provided with the mount kit. Will only be slightly rougher than a stock rubber mount.

This also allows the tranny to be located at the stock height, using the preload bumps/plate on the ES mount will place the tranny too close to the body.
