trans mount location
trans mount location
i am currently experiencing what i believe is my trans moving around due to a broken mount...i really don't have the time to jack the car up any time soon being that i have work and school til the weekend but i'd like to take a look under the car with a mirror...is this possible or do i have to get under the car to take a look? if it should be visible, where do i look? i'd like to diagnose this problem today so i can order any necessary parts for a weekend repair. thanks in advance for the help.
Re: trans mount location
um.... just get a set of ramps.... drive up onto them and you should be able to see from there... i honestly dont recall, just had to get in there, once i took the support bar down, you could of see, er, no i take it back, the rubber mount just broke apart. =P
Re: trans mount location
If you have a floor jack you can just slide the floor jack under the tranny tail shaft area. Jack it up a tad. If the tranny rises the tranny mount is broke. If the tranny doesnt really rise and the rest of the body of the car wants to go up to then your mount is fine. If it is broke it only takes like 20 minutes to do. and 10 bucks at autozone if you replace it with the stock piece.

thanks...looks like i'll have to climb under the car after all...i have the ground effects kid on my car...can't fit the jack too far under the car without it getting hung up on the body
