Trans was just rebuilt, and now a few problems

I just had my trans rebuilt by a shop. They took forever to do so. My trans used to shift at WOT at 6400 rpm now it shifts at 6000. If I leave it in manual first, it will automaticly shift to 2nd at 5500 rpm.

WTF did they mess up?

They may not have messed anything up since the computer commands the shift. Where are the shift points set in the tune?

A lot of time tuners will set shift points lower because the tranny is slipping or banging the rev limiter and then when the tranny is then fixed it shifts lower...

If I remember correctly, this isn't the first problem you've had with this rebuild??? I remember trying to talk you into sending it to us, but I guess you found a "better" deal?

The shift timing is mainly controlled by the computer, but pressure also plays a role. As for it not holding in manual low...There is a way to modify the valve body to make it hold.

Did they build your original transmission?

Yea Frank, I have had many problems with this trans. I keep being cheap and having these people build it that work at trans shops on the side and they keep Fing it up. I shoulda sent it to you.

I know shift points have a lot to do with the computer, but they didnt modify the computer.

I had my trans rebuilt in 2001 by a good shop
it failed in 2005 about a 3 months after I put a cam in it

From there this one Dumb *** rebuilt it 3 or 4 times and the 3-4 clutch pack would always burn up.

Now I just had another Dumb *** build it, its on the 2nd time around..... More crap this time This guy will keep fixing it, but he takes forever and doesnt live that close.

I think my trans is just garbage and cant be fixed.

We hear that alot. Many of our customers have went through 4,5,6 or more rebuilds before they found us. We've actually had customers tell us that they think their transmission is "cursed"...LOL We kinda like changing their thoughts about that. It's not the transmissions fault. It's just the lack of good 4L60E builders.
Let me know if I can help in any other way. 302-250-1202
