TRANS FLUID change

so I have 84k miles on my T/A, and I've put 15k on since I bought it. I have absolutely no idea if the transmission fluid/filter has ever been changed, so I'm not sure if I should do it or not. Some people say do it, some say don't. Some say do it but add some sort of additive? Any help is appreciated

It won't hurt anything to do it, but at 85k it shouldn't need it. It's about a 30 minute job, and pretty straight forward. Do it if you want to. I didn't add any additive when I did mine (had 180k).
