I don't think there is a temp sensor in the stock 4L60E. But there is a plugged port on the passenger side that you can use for a temp sensor.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized there is a stock trans temp sensor on the 4L60E. It is "internal" to the tranny, and feeds the PCM, so you don't want to just "unscrew" it.... you will get trouble codes. The rest of the info is OK... You need to add another sensor, and there is a port on the passenger side of the tranny.

Yes there is one built into the trans. Its does feed the PCM and it will show up if you scan or log your car. Your PCM will adjust the shift/line pressure based on this temp reading.

Thats a bit much for the gauge. I think i paid $40 trans temp and $15 for sender . There is a guy on ebay that sells cyberdyne gauges for alot less. I got my FP gauge with sender for less than that price of the trans temp gauge. Email me for the guys addy. and use the port in the side of the trans. Steven
