tranny slipping!??!

car: 1998 camaro z28
mods: ported tb, cutout, tsp lid
times: 13.48@104 2.0 60 ft

problem: just intalled 3400 stall
times: 13.3@100 1.8 60 ft
times: 13.4@100 1.7 60 ft

with my old times and a stall i was hoping for a 12.9-13.0, especially with those 60 fts.

seems as my car dies around the 1/8?

8.5@80 in the 1/8 mile.

my friend who installed my stall, told me i had "slack" in my drivetrain. could that be the problem? if so...what or how can i fix this problem?

Re: tranny slipping!??!

Were the track, weather, and vehicle conditions roughly the same both times? I know any of those items can certainly make it seem like you're not making any progress. I agree, w/ those 60 fts you should see better results. It's hard to say what's wrong with it without seeing & feeling it with something like this. Is it shifting slowly or unusually? Or does the car just feel sluggish or something?
