Tranny question

Anyone know what the difference is between a rebuilt automatic and a factory remanufactued auto tranny is?

It depends on the rebuilders idea of rebuilt. Different shops have different theorys on this(though they probably wont admit it). Some will road test and if slippage is felt with no other problems they just through clutches in it and maybe some steeles if there blue. Other shops will replace bearings,seals,*****,clutches and back flush the cooler.

Remans generally have new or rebuilt converters,frontpumps, and clearances are actually measured and corrected as well as all the things mentioned above.

Performance rebuilds replace alot of parts that are weak links and work on flow characteristics to improve overall performance.
