Tranny leak???

I had a big puddle of tranny fluid under my 97 T/A the other day. I tightened down the tranny pan bolts cuz they could have used a little snug. But it still leaked. It was a fairly large puddle but the dip stick showed a decent amount of fluid. So i took my car to get the tranny pan seal changed, but two days later i noticed a new puddle and its still leaking.

Where else could this leak be coming from??
ANyone else have any other problems like this??

Re: Tranny leak???

Any number of things actually.
1. Could have been overfilled
2. pan gasket
3. front seal
4. output shaft seal

My tranny has leaked from day 1. No matter what I do it still leaks so I just make sure the level is always right and let it leak

Re: Tranny leak???

Apparently my mechanic says that its my tranny pump, which means the tranny and torque converter must be removed and inspected. SO i was wondering if i should just got all the way and get a high stall.

I don't want to spend crazy amounts of money on a VIG. so was looking at getting a mid west, which i hear are pretty good.

What kind of stall do i need exactly, like size and lock-up or not.
I daily drive it and don't want to drive around in a sloppy feeling car, so I was thinking of a 2600-2800, with a tranny cooler and a trans-go.

Any opinions?

Re: Tranny leak???

Get a lock up converter in 2800 stall speed and it should be good for what you want.
I have a TCI at 2800 and its easy to drive everyday. We just put a 3600 in a friends car that runs 11.70s and he used to have a 3000 stall when I saw him drive around the block with the new 3600 stall I was like damn thats alot of RPM to get moving.......
