hey all, JUST got back from the track tonight. I made 5 runs and the car ran great! then on the 6th run, at the end of the track when the car went to shift into 3rd it hesitated 3 times and then finally shifted. So we made another run and it did the same thing again. we figured with 6 runs all within a short period of time the tranny was pretty hot so we let it sit for an hour until the dipstick was cool. we made another run and yet again the hesitation at 6200rpm. the engine would jump maybe 2-300 rpm 3 times and then shift into 3rd. it drove fine all 90 miles home. now were maybe thinking its a band? the tranny is a 4l60e mated to the lt1 in a 96z28. i think tomorrow ima try a run on the sreet here and see if its still doing it. We figure with the tranny cold and a full out run if it still hesitates its a band? i know it aint the engine. i ran it slowly up through the rpm and it sounded great. any advice/info would be GREATLY appreciated. also the car is completely stock except for exhaust, wheels/tires.

 

The 3-4 clutch pack is starting to go. It might be fixed with using a Trans-Go "modified" Performance shift kit, this will depend on if this just started to happen, and if the transmissioon has low miles on it. If you modified the engine lately (for more HP) then this can cause you to pull through the 3-4 clutches. If this just started to happen & the fluid still looks good, you might save it with the Shift kit mentioned above. If I can be of help, let me know?
