Tranny Help

Ok guys im @ a loss here, this is my wifes vehicle, i know its not an fbody but i thought a few of you might have some ideas, The Car is a 99' Mitsu Eclipse Auto 2.8(think its a 2.8 non turbo 4 banger)

The tranny will go in a loop mode sometimes and stick in second, and then drive fine sometimes, but it will have neutral and reverse when it does.

I am thinking it is a electrical problem, all grounds check and connections, will the VSS going out cause this? BCM failing?

The OBDII is throwing these codes

PO733
Gear 3 Ratio Incorrect

PO731
Gear 1 Ratio Incorrect

PO715
Imput/Turbine Speed Sensor A Circut Malfunction

P1782
Manufacturer Contrl Transmission

P0700 Trans Control Sys Malfunction

DTC Pending Codes
P0700 Trans Controll Malfunction

I do notice i am not throwing a code for second gear and this is the gear it sticks in! lol

Thx Don

2ND gear is limp mode in these cars and they are known to kill a TCM but with so many codes I would check my wiring and all the trans conectors fuses and grounds. If all are good I would replace the in put and out put speed sensors fist as they to go bad on these quite often Then as a last resort I would replace the TCM. I have spent many hours messing with these in the past. Not bad little trannys but can be electronics nightmares.

I am rying to figure out which of two possible transmisions you have but the problem i am getting is they ae only showing two engine options in 99 2.0 and 2.4 ?
And actually looking over your codes again I would start replacing the input speed sensor first. its the one nearest the bell with two wires to it reguardless of unit type

I used to work at a dealer...the input sensors would go all the time. I think its the same motor/trans as a neon and some other chrystler cars (breeze?) If you have anyway of scannig it.......search around for service bulletins too. Sometimes they need a computer reflashed
