TRANNY GOODBYE?..or clutch?

ok, i have been getting some noise from drivetrain when clutch was out it was a revolutionary noise, the fast the rpms the faster the noise repeated.it was like a knocking noise comming from the tranny. well the other day i was on my way home from work and i was getting vibrations when i left of the gas around 2-2500 rpm..i pulled off listened. when i pulled back onto the road i was in first and i no more than hit 3000 rpm and i heard a hell of a bang and all the suddend it was like neutral it just reved up and i could put it in any gear i wanted it wouldnt go including reverse...this tells me it is either clutch or main shaft in the tranny..i need someone to tell me if they ever experienced this problem..plz let me know, thanks
