Tranny Concern?

Gave the car in for an oil change. Mechanic saw a slight leak from the speed sensor so he took that out and put on a new seal. While he was cleaning it up he showed me some metal shaving on the sensor. Do I have to worry about the tranny going on me soon? I dont drive the car all that much. Maybe twice a week. The car has 90,000 miles on it.

The speed sensor is magnetic. It'll attract everything. Is the transmission still operating alright? Were they actual metal fragments, or just stuff that looks like Don Kings hair? If you're worried, you might want to drop the pan, and do a service. This way, you'll get a good visual inspection of what's in the pan. If you see alot of fine black sediment, or metal there, you might have to worry.
