tranny

ok lay it out for me...i'm thinking syncros

if i start the car cold, she shifts perfect. once the car has been going for a while...shifts sucks

if i'm at a light and have to put it in first, it usually takes all my might to get it in gear. second is hard but not as bad and gets easier threw the gears. there is no grinding. well besides once and a while going into rev (thats happened since day one)

couple years ago i changed the clutch, master, and slave. which is maybe 5k ago. this problems started maybe 2 years ago (2k ago)

Is the car trying to creep when you attempt to put it in 1st? Like the slave isnt fully releasing the clutch?

Sounds like it might be syncros then, or maybe a bent/broke shift fork? The job of the syncro is to slow down the shaft to the same speed before engaging. If its worn out it makes engaging the slider hard, but is usually accompanied by grinding of the teeth. Thats why I say maybe a bent/broken fork.

Try a fluid change. Wrong weight fluid can make the syncros not work correctly. Make sure the weight of the new fluid is correct. Only use a good quality fluid.

I had a Harley that did just that and it took me years to figure out why. The solution was to run a lower fluid level in the trans, but in your case I would just make sure that it wasn't overfilled and that your vent was clear. I am not suggesting to run less than recommended fluid levels, just relaying what I found out in my case.

Do you think it may be possible you weren't getting answers because you didn't provide any info at all regarding what tranny/clutch setup you were asking about?

Why not add a "signature" with basic indo about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and major mods. That way people can give you much better and more specific answers. The cardomain link isn't really handy.

mainly because i'm not on this site much. the car is a heavy modded v6 with 336 rwhp and 412 rwt. here is the car domain.

and this would be a problem that could happen with any tranny so the model doesn't seem to mean much. but its stock

My recommendations for a "signature" were generic - what the people who need answers and use their heads put in it, to help others answer those questions. In this case, knowing it was a T5 would have been helpful. Different trannies have different weak points. Knowing that it was a T5 running well beyond its known torque limitations would have been helpful.

But I doubt you really care, so I suspect I'm just wasting my time trying to HELP you get your questions answered.
