Tranny...

Ok guys, found myself a 98 Camaro, it's a auto, V6 car, but the motor is bad. Otherwise the car looks like new. I am thinking if I decided to buy it, I'll pull the V6, find a LS1 and make a swap. My question though is, Tranny wise, Would a 4L60E from a Lt1 work? Or is there something computer/bolt up wise that won't work? What about a t56 from a Lt1 car? I have access to both. But I am not sure which will work. Or if either will work at all.

LT1 transmissions are not interchangeable with the LS1. Different bellhousing bolt pattern, not to mention the longer input shaft of the LS1 tranny.

yea it wont work, you will need a transmission from an LS1 v8 car either auto or manual. the t56 cant be swapped over even to the different bellhousing because the case has a different bolt pattern.
