NEED HELP ASAP on 4l60e
hey guys,
about a year ago i bought a lt1dave tranny... level 2 with vaccum modualtion. since i had the tranny i put 4k miles on it and maybe 5 runs at the track. not burnouts or whathave you.
local guy in town (friend) lost his tranny over the week, calls me up and asks where i can get a tranny, i told him i'll sell him mine for 1k and i'll just upgrade
so i told him i'd install it for him.... so we meet up and pull his tranny out of a 95 TA. we switch the pans from his and mine, and put a new filter in it. we get the tranny on the block and everything is bolted up. the first problem we hit is..... i had begun to thread a converter bolt in and i didnt finish it, we needed to turn the crank to reah the other holes so he cranks the car over (bumps) and the bolt comes loose and jams itself between the flywheel anbd the block...
so we pound with a hammer and screw driver on the converter to let it move, because the crank hub bolt would just go loose, so we get it freethe only thing i think could be bad is that when we where knock the TC (stock) the wrong direction that its supposed to turn to get this stuck bolt free.
after that its kinda hard to turn the converter on the tranny.
we bolt everthing up and start it up, checked the fluid too.
we feel a knocking and grinding from the tranny when in gear, i stop the car and jack it up and check the tranny mount.... start it up again and i have the same results... then we go for a drive up to 75 mph.... everything is fine... i slowdown and turn around and after 2nd gear shifts.... and i give it gas... it starts to slip hard.....
so this tranny worded fine before cost me 1150$ 4k miles ago... is it wrecked?
because i already sent my order to LT1dave for another 1250 level 3 tranny...
