ok i finally got a bite on my 96 V6 and if all goes well I will be purchasing an LS1 in the very near future so my question is how well does the automatic transmission handle power increases. I'm looking at camming it and puttin down about 375-400 rwhp and MAYBE (big maybe) a 100 shot of nitrous. Would this destroy a stock 4L60E? I realllly want a six speed anyway but I might have to settle for the auto since the six speed is kinda rare around here.

My 95 A4 held up to 437rwhp stock. It was supercharged. Mind you Super charger generated horse power are not as hard on transmissions as nitrous. Nitrous hits hard.

What did my stock transmission in was the installation of a 2,800 stall converter. It allowed the engine to get into peak torque situations much to rapidly, killed the 2nd gear band.

Hope this helps
