Torque converters

I have a TCI streetfighter torque converter. It's a 2800 stall. Would there be much of an advantage in getting a "better" one such as a yank or vigilante? I want to keep the stall at 2800 - 3000.

Re: Torque converters

What kind of advantages are you looking for? I wouldn't think it would make you much faster, but it could make your car more livable. On the other hand, you may be able to go with a more extreme stall because the "better" torque converters will still maintain driveability. The main thing would be having the car give you acceleration at low rpms, yet still jump up there when you put your foot down. I read an article about this a while back and supposedly there was a pretty big difference between the low buck cheapy torque converters and the ones you've gotta give an arm or a leg for.

Re: Torque converters

Previous post said it well. What are you trying to accomplish?

Re: Torque converters

Well, like i said b4, I'm just wondering if a "better" torque converter would improve track times over the one I have. Driveability is not an issue with the one I have. It's fine on the road.
