Torque converter vibration?

After sitting for 2 years I finally put an engine in my 93 TA. While I was warming it up to get the coolant filled I noticed a familiar vibration. With the car in park or neutral starting at 1500 RPM I get a rhythmic vibration (like a wave starting from nothing intensifying for 2 seconds and then back to nothing-pause for a sec or 2 and then starting over). Shows up in the steering wheel and seems to move lower in the car as RPM increases from console to seat to the floor. I say it's familiar because I rememberd while driving the car before with a different engine it would vibrate the shifter button when you cruised at highway speed or somewhere around 2000 RPM. I started by installing ES engine and tranny mounts (they needed it anyway) no difference. After many searches I ran across a suggestion to unbolt the converter and after doing this no more vibration. Great I've found it I thought. So next I rotated the converter to different holes on the flexplate-no difference. I should say that the flexplate had no apparent cracks when I installed it and torque bolts. It rings when you tap it. Started trying to add lead weight to the mounting lugs to see if I could make a change but that didn't work either. So I got another converter from my local parts store spent the weekend swapping the converters. Much to my disappointment I still have a vibration starting at 1500 RPM but now instead of a wave it's more like a pulse (on for a second gone for a second and back on). Took it out for a test drive and there it is, not really bad but annoying because it shows up at the speed and RPM I would cruise on the highway(usually close to the speed limit). Before I get 50 lashes for buying an off the shelf converter my intension is to get this car running and try to sell it sometime soon. The good thing is I can walk it back in and get another one tomorrow and see if it's any better. I guess my question boils down to am I going in the right direction here with another converter or is there something else in the tranny that could be part of this vibration. It seems to me when the second converter changed but didn't eliminate the vibration I've still got a balance issue in the converter? Could be wrong. Whats everybody think? Thanks

Hey, did you ever figure out what was causing your vibration because I'm experiencing the same thing with my ride...
