Torque converter and rear end help

Ok i Have a 94 z28 camaro with a stock rear end. I dont know for sure what the gear ratio is but i believe its a 3.23 because i read on here somewhere that if your rpo code is GU5 thats what it should be. I have bought a non-lockup converter with 2800-3000 stall. I have a 4l60e with shift kit. I havent put in the converter yet because im not sure if this would be a good setup. The trans shop i got the converter from gave me a valve to put in the pump to help change it to a non- lock up. I also have the LT4 hotcam upgrade if that helps.

Any comments would be appreciated

Why would you want to switch to a non-lockup converter? I wouldn't.

I really didnt want to but thats the only torque conv they had in stock with that stall speed. They other torque converter was a lock up but the stall speed was 2300- 2500. Would that be ok for my setup. I was hoping to go with a higher stall but I was really hoping to put it in this weekend, so I dont really want to order one.

I'd just wait and order a 3000+ lock-up from a reliable company.
In my opinion the lock-up feature really helps tame bigger stalls on the street.

Don't use a non lockup converter. Non lockup converters are designed for race only applications, so if you drive the car on the street get a lockup converter. Also, from what I've heard, 4l60e's don't like non lockups. It can heat them up more and take out clutchs easier.

Return that converter and buy another one. Something like a Yank or Vigilante.
