torque converter?

Need some suggestions on tq for a comp cams 233/239 cam .569 int .577 exh
Would still like to drive it on the street but still kick *** at the track. Also a brand input would be good. I have been hearing good things about midwest. Yank and PI seems to be highly priced but I know, you get what you pay for.

Re: torque converter?

TCI makes a decent stall as well. I'd go with nothing less than a 3200 stall with that cam.

Re: torque converter?

Thanks, dmoor88 I spent about 2 1/2 months in Stephenville because of my job. Lots of open road that I would have loved to cruise my car on. Nice and hot down there were as my car is in storage already. I'll be back in March though to install some more equipment. Can't wait to get back

Yeah Stephenville is about an hour from where I go to school. Definitely some nice roads for cruisin'

Best of luck with your car. I definitely think that you could see your 450rwhp goal with that cam and especially with Lloyd's heads. Lloyd lives about an hour from me too, in Red Oak. I've personally spoken to him for a couple years now and he's a real stand-up guy. Good choice on heads!

Re: torque converter?

I would go with a Vig. I know they are not cheap, but I've been running my 3600 stall since 1996. Picked up 5 tenths over an LPE converter and actually gained 1 mph. I just sent it back for a freshening last year only because I had my trans rebuilt. Vicki at PI couldn't believe how good the thing looked inside after 8 years of daily driving and track abuse. Can't beat their unconditional guarantee and great customer service. As far as stall speed goes just give them all of your specs and they'll tailor one to your specific needs...

Re: torque converter?

PI had a limited restall guarantee. It goes out after a couple years, unless they've changed their warranty.

Re: torque converter?

Yeah, sorry, left out the time frame...2 years unconditional with a free stall upgrade...I don't know of anyone ever breaking one, though...
