I'd leave a stock converter in before chancing one of those. Tell him to buy a real converter, Yank, Vig, etc. The surge might be his tune is off. That cam really shouldn't have any surge if tuned correctly.

Before my cam swap with BFG DR i pulled a 1.9 with it It stall alittle higher then my stock, my stock tc 60ft times were around 2.1 on street tires. But the 1.9 was only 1 of the 2 passes i made on this TC cause I put it in late last year.

I cut low 1.6x's with mine, big difference. A quality converter will usually drop your et between .4 to .6 tenths. You need a converter change. 1.70 60ft times or better are the norm with your set-up. I'm not knocking your set-up, just trying to help.

I havent run this steup yet I put it in this winter, I ran those back stock the holeshoot with catback drs and msd6a and jet chips. I pulled a 13.9 at 98. Full weight with a subbox in the rear. I should be pulling that when i run it this year. I ran 14.x without the conveter and without the msd. way i see it i dropped proably .3 tenths with the conveter. witch is not bad for a 2400 stall. This year i will be in 11s on a 75 shot. My buddy ran the same setup i am running a 12.5 with a th350 with a 3000 stall and a 11.78 with a 100 shoot. I wanna be close to 12 flat on a 75 shot maybe break 11s.

You and I have similar plans, just trying to dial the car down to 12-anything w/bolt-ons, then spray it into the 11's. I haven't done converter or gears yet, or driveshaft though, but it's coming. I was looking into a vig 3000-ish lockup and 3.73's. Right now my best on the stock stuff is 1.9's. on BFG Drags.

Well My buddy just sold me a set of used 4.10s for 50 bucks that he ran a year. There richmonds and i can get them installed for 230 bucks. but broke for the moment but i couldnt pass up his deal. So maybe late this year they will be in cause i dont wanna blow my 10 bolt this early and not have the money to fix it or put a 12 bolt in. So proably by fall or winter there going in .

I had Richmond 4.10's and they made a good amount of noise. I have heard of a few cases where they didn't, but that is pretty rare. I went back to the stock 3.23s for a while and then had some Motive 3.73s put in. Very little noise now.

really made noise, theres sothimg they can do to them or special ones that get some kinda treatment thats suspose to reduce the noise but idk what its called o well. Quick question was it the noise louder then the eninges grumble cause if it is might not be worth it but stuff like noise doesnt really bother me.

The noise was annoying, and I have a high tolerance for such. Your call.
