Toner Ring for Eaton Carrier?

I have a 96 SS M6 and am replacing my carrier with a 3 series Eaton carrier. I have the Eaton in the shop to get bearings pressed on and the guy told me that you can't get a ABS toner ring on the Eaton. What should I do?

Re: Toner Ring for Eaton Carrier?

So I've decided to eventually delete my ABS. I will only drive this car on dry streets. Will there be any problem putting this EATON carrier without the toner ring in my housing? Is there anything else I will have to do to my car in the meantime before I get a abs delete kit? Or just put the carrier in and drive?

which eaton carrier ? I'm running an eaton clutch plate carrier and the abs ring went on no differently than onto a auburn or torsen.

I'm not exactly sure.I bought it used. All I know is that it's a 3 series and it accepts 28 spline axles. Will there be a problem if I just don't go with a toner ring?

Re: Toner Ring for Eaton Carrier?

Do you have the correct Eaton part? This article clearly shows the ABS reluctor being installed on an Eaton carrier:

Would I be able to get away with not including the reluctor ring since I don't need ABS anyway? Or does it have to be on there?

Re: Toner Ring for Eaton Carrier?

No,it does not have to be on there. You will get a ABS dash light always on.
based on your original post,maybe
-the shop doesn't know how to install it
-they tried installing it and have had no luck
-they broke it trying to install it
-you acquired an Eaton 3series carrier for 28 spline axles that was not machined on its' OD to accept a GM 3channel ring.

not trying to put down the shop that's doing the work, just looking at all potential reasons.

Yeah, I think I'll leave it off. I'm pretty sure the carrier doesn't have the OD to except the ring.
