Is there anything I can do to stop the tranny from rattling in neutral?

My transmission rattles in neutral when I don't have the clutch pushed in. I tried replacing the TOB when I replaced the clutch disk, but that didn't do anything. As soon as the clutch is completly disengaged in neutral the noise goes away. Is there anything I can do to stop the rattling besides having the clutch in all the time? Its kind of annoying

Stock mine made noise to. I got a streettwin setup that came with a new TOB and it still made noise. I've learned to live with it, I think it's fairly common/normal for a M6 car unless your talking REAL loud.

It's pretty damn loud. I can it outside the car with no problem... Non of my friends cars do it either. The tranny shifts fine, but the rattling in neutral is annoying as hell and embarassing.

I have poly motor and tranny mounts in, and they are fine, and I don't see how they would make the transmission rattle.

I heard once that if there's a rattle with the clutch pedal in, it's the TOB. If it rattles with the clutch pedal out and in neutral, it's the input shaft bearing.
Never had the problem, so I don't know if true or not.

While those bushings won't make the transmission rattle, they can make the rattle in the transmission louder, due to the harder polyurethane bushings transmitting more of the vibration/sound to the body of the car. Mine has the same rattling sound and I'm sure a lot of other 6 speed F-bodies do also......

I put a brand new round bearing in once, it was ver loud.
I then put in the square Corvette TOB and its dead silent. It must be better quality.

You are probably hearing the throw-out bearing rattle against the fork due to no pressure being on the fork.

Mine has always done this. I've had a stock pressure plate and bearing, a SLP LT4 setup, and now a SPEC, and they've all done this; most likely because most PPs are Valeo units.

Maybe the square corvette bearing is narrower in the fork channel, and this is why it's quieter? Sure would be nice if an aftermarket company came out with a TOB which would eliminate this noise.

I thought it was this too so I tried pushing the clutch pedal in a little but, and it doesn't do anythink, it stops when the clutch is completly disengaged.
