TH350 problem

The transmission is fine when cold, but after driving 10 miles down the highway into town when I stop and then take off it slips in first gear. The wierd thing is it isn't a constant slip. It will spin real loose and then catch all of a sudden real hard, it shakes everything. Another thing wierd about it is if it is in neutral and you put it in gear it will engage the gear and pull the rpm's down. I don't know what it is and was wondering if you guys could help me out.

BTW it isn't on an f-body but some f-bodies have these transmissions so I thought it would be okay. If it's not okay one of the mod's can let me know and I'll delete the thread.
