Which TCI Sizzler?

My trans is on the outs. A local shop will rebuild mine for $800. I also ran across the TCI Sizzler. I need to know which one will fit my 1993 Formula with a 700R4? Any other wiring kits I need?
Thanks.

Re: Which TCI Sizzler?

You might want to ask them what's included for that $800. Billet 2nd servo? billet 4th servo? Raybestos "blue" 3-4 frictions? Kolene 3-4 steels? Alto "wide" band? Updated sprags? Sonnax slide spring? Sonnax pressure regulator valve and sleeve? The "Beast" sun shell? New shift solenoids? New pressure switch manifold?
I include all this in my $1000 rebuilds. Yes, I offer an $800 rebuild, but it's built with stock clutches and steels, and the factory "Corvette" servo.
Ask what you're getting for your money...Of course, it's not always about the parts list, either. You've got to find out what the person building it is capable of. Ask about other 60E's he's built. Any in quick race cars? Eventhough yours might not be a dedicated race car, remember...If he's capable of building a 700 for a mid 10 second cars, he should be capable of building one for a 13 second cars. Are you getting any kind of warranty for $800?

I'm not familiar with TCI's designations. I haven't heard much good about their 700/4L60E converters. You might want to give ProTorque a call. I have a link to their site in my web page, which is in my sig. Click on the link for my transmission shop.

Re: Which TCI Sizzler?

I agree with Frank on the Trans rebuild. You might want to find out what all you're getting for your money. If your looking for a stock rebuild on your car, then you may be OK, but the the parts that you already have on your car, it looks like you may do some racing. A little more money spent now may pay off in the future.

If you do buy one of our converters, I'd recommend the TCI Breakaway... part number 242800. It's worth every penny. The Sizzler would work OK, but I like the higher stall speed of the Breakaway.
