tci converter change

I have a 3000 stall tci street fighter on a stock cam. i'm about to put in my forged 383 with big valves, 12.5-1 comp. & an xfi 468 cam on nitrous. Is a 3500 stall super street fighter going to be any better or helpful for my new setup? I am trying to go 10's and dont care about streetability as much as e.t.
Thanks

you're going to want a nice converter like a vigilante or a yank in that thing if your planning on 10's with spray.

What he said. ^ Buy a quality converter for all that added HP. There not the only two, but you can't go wrong with either of them.

How do you feel about pulling the tranny again?
I would run it and see how you like it. If you don't like it, all you've lost is your time to change it out. Remember it will stall a little higher with more power. I've heard of people that have had there problems with TCI converters, but I personally know a guy that runs one in a car that consistantly runs in the 10's and a high 9 now and then......

I don't think the TCI's come with antiballooning plates on them, but I could be wrong. If your using nitrous, you want that. The PI is probably your best bet pricewise at around $700 and can handle nitrous. A yank built for nitrous is up around $900 I believe.

When I bought my Yank last year I asked about using nitrous. Was told at my power level, (about 353rwhp unlocked with the Yank,) I could add an extra 200rwhp with nitrous to the SS3600 and it would take it no problem. So far I'm running a 115shot. Dyno'd 468rwhp on a very rich tune.

I recently destroyed my TCI 2800 stall converter and the transmission. Please see my post below if anyone can comment or assist.
