Lightbulb TC choice advise.

ok i just read the sticky thread on TCs' and it cleared things up and confused me at the same time.

its time for a rebuild and im trying to choose my stall brand and speed.
since i only have a bolt on LT1 and i daily drive it i don't want to go above a 3000rpm.

Thoughts?

Then yes, with those gears, a "quality" 3k stall will be a nice addition to your set up.

after reading all the sticky threads I was starting to think I shouldn't get one untill im modded up more.

Vigilante 9.5" Single Disk Lock-up Torque Converter, 200R4, 700R4/4L60E, 4L80E

2800 RPM picked out on thunder racing.

what is the diffrence with the single disk lock up and 3 disk lock up, besides $250

Lets just say, you don't need the 3 disk lockup, because your going to need that money for a set of drag radials. The Vig. is a nice choice, just don't forget to install a quality trans cooler also.

The vigilante is a awesome tc. The cooler and drag radials are a good idea too.

Get the B+M trans cooler. The one that looks more like a small radiator. (A little help here guys on the part #.) You still use the cooler in the radiator first, and then through the B+M, and back to the trans. On a side note, your shifts will feel a bit soft with the new converter. Maybe give Frank (CPT) a call, and he can help you out with what needs to be done to the valvebody.

yea yea the B and M trans cooler that is what i meant, and yes i'll send the fluid thru both coolers (i saw a write up here on this before)

when its rebuilt im going to have the shifts made more exciting so I don't think that will be a problem. :-D

im just going to order my parts and when its out for the rebuild all this will be put back in.
