Taking off metal plate on Prothane Mount?

Hi
I just purchased a Prothane Transmission Mount for my 94 Z28.

been reading that sme people take off the metal place (on top in guessing?) to reduce vibrations? I do not have this in hand yet, just ordered it a few min. ago, so i sont know if it will just "come off"?

Is this recomended to lower vibrations? (i have a 3 month old in the back seat)

And when i want all the HP to come out all at once when the wife has the kid, hopefully this mount will hold up VS OEM (w/ or w/out "plate")

Should i, and is it easy to take off? (do i haveto pry it off/break the material to do so)

Thank you

They all don't come with plates. If it comes with a plate just don't install the plate. It's not attached. It's a matter of preference. I think it's better without the plate.

The Prothane mount doesn't come with the preload plate, the Energy Suspension one does.
