Last year we finally got the car back together after our rebuild. Almost instantly we spun the input shaft bearing on the t56. this ruined the shaft, the bearing, bearing races, trans front cover, seal, and clutch slave cylinder. after much searching to find affordable parts we had the races pressed into the new cover and reassembled it ourselves. Got the thing back in the car and jumped in for a test drive only to discover that 2nd gear was very hard to get into, and 4th is totally gone. When we get to 4th gear it will act like it is sliding into the slot but the shifter just pops back in to neutral when the clutch is released. Next week im going to take the trans out of the car again. was wondering if anybody had suggestions as to where i can look for this problem and maybe how to fix it. thanks much, all!
