T56 Swap (Shifter Hole)

I have the car in my sig and I'm taking it from a A4 to a 6 speed. I just noticed as I was bolting up the bellhousing, that I have to cut a hole for the shifter to slide through. Does anyone have a picture of how big this needs to be or where it needs to be? I would really appreciate it, so I don't just start cutting and it be wrong. It would be a pain in the *** to bolt the tranny up, mark it, pull the tranny back down, and then cut it. I'm just looking for a short-cut. I appreciate any help.
