t56 swap question

Ok so i was hoping someone may be able to help me with a somewhat technical question on the tranny swap. Im wondering if i need to get the flywheel from my donor car balanced to match the flex plate that used to be in the car in doing the swap into? I was hoping that i would be able to just swap in the flywheel and call it a day, but a write up in reading says i have to get it balanced to match.. i dont know how they would balance a flywheel to match a flex plate with the weight differences? Iv got a call into my local machine shop, but the guyt that does the balancing wont be in until 11ish..
Thanks

A shop should be able to tell if the flywheel has a certain balance to it- and then match the new flywheel to the old one.

If you are using a stock flywheel from a LT1 you don't need to balance it. It will have the same balance as your stock flexplate.

Thanks RNG, thats what i thought, and was hoping. Now when i buy my aluminum FW, i will just have to take that to the machine shop with either the stock flywheel or flex plate and i will be able to have them match the balance for me right?

True on what mcgill said unless it is a flywheel from a corvette lt1. If from a fbody..a simple swap works.
