T56 swap - hard to shift

Just wrapped up an LT1/T56 swap into a 3rd gen.
The tranny is hard to shift into gear. Doesn't matter what gear I'm trying, even Reverse is tough. The clutch seems to be working fine, the car doesn't try to pull at all when the pedal is depressed, and it disengages smooth.

I used Dexron III fluid. It took 3 quarts before it ran out the fill hole.

Any ideas?

What kind of clutch? Sounds like your master/slave assy may not be bled correctly. Did you buy a new assy?

Duralast clutch - forget the part number. The press. plate and disc are stamped 'Valeo', so that is who manufactured it.

I used a brand new hydraulic setup - bought the whole assembly from Chevy dealer - it came all put together, reservior and everything. I manged to get it in without taking it apart, so it should be bled.

What is the procedure for bleeding it anyway? I'll give that a shot.
