T56 jumping out of 2nd?

I've searched the old threads and found nothing. So my car only jumps out of 2nd gear on the down shift if I don't give it gas when i let out on the clutch, if i do give it gas it will stay in gear. Any thoughts.I've been told that it could be a bent shift fork.
Thanks

I'd be leaning towards 2nd Gear Synchro going bad, causing it to pop out of gear under no load.... I'd start by looking there!

Unhappy

Don't think it is just the syncro, it is probably the gear and syncro assy.

As I understand, as the gears wear, the mating surfaces become sort
of rounded. The syncro is like a small clutch, when the shifter moves the
syncro assy to 2nd gear, the syncro slows the gear down to synchronize
the speed if the gear with the main shaft.

So I would guess you need at least the gear / syncro serviced (= new parts)

I've been doing research on this and have found out that this year car was known to bend the shift fork that was made of aluminum and the constant shift from 1st to 4th because of the GAGS could do it also. There was actualy a service bulliten put out on this. The guy I bought the car from said he very rarely had the car in 2nd,driving it mostly in the City.
