t56 hard to shift...

Its hard to shift from 1-2 under hard acceleration. The higher rpm i shift at the harder it is to put in second. it literally just wont go into gear until the rpms drop a bit. Its like it hits a wall or something then breaks through. 3rd and 4th gear will grind if shifted hard. It also makes a rattling sound under hard acceleration in all gears. Normal, slow driving everything is fine. could the tranny mounts possibly be loose or worn out and causing the rattling and shift problems? I recently changed the fluid and it made no difference. Im thinking the synchros might also be worn out. my autoshop teacher drove the car and he said everything felt good but he didnt know waht the rattling sound was. I think my trans is about on its way out.

Probly just syncronizers (sp?) going bad. I also used to have some sort of rattleing sound. But new clutch fixed that.

same exact thign happened to me with my 2000 ta.. got hard to shift at high rpms between 3rd and 4th.. turns out the syncro's were going bad fast. syncro kits can run about 300 bucks.. nersus the price of a new tranny.. you pick! good luck though
