T56 conversion... need 12V switched power for !CAGS

I need to wire up !CAGS. Even though my car is a T56 conversion, I can't pass emissions unless I can wire it up and "delete" it.

I know from Alex Afrashteh's guide that the solenoid taps off the white wire on the A4 harness and then switched power. From what I understand you can just connect the appropriate resistor between these two lines and you've got a CAGS delete.

Where is a good spot to tap off 12V for this? Can I just go straight from the battery?

why dont you get it deleted from the pcm? you need it programmed anyway. 12v needs to be fused.

Under the dash find a heavier gauge Orange or Pink wire running in a harness along the left side up towards the firewall. Either one of those are switched. Fuse it just in case.

I need to keep it active in the PCM in order to pass emissions... in LS1 cars you can delete it and it won't throw an emissions-related code, but in LT1's it will.

i didnt think the skip shift threw a code. oh well, mine was deleted and i will deal with the smog police in the future i guess. no testing here for now anyway i did the conversion and used a new m29 and it had no cags. i have a manual if you want the exact wire.

I did the conversion using a M29 but I have a SES light too.
It's the CAGS.
How do you delete it? LT1 edit cannot do it.
Is there a way to wire it up using the eliminator plug for cags.

Don't you mean you can't have a ses light on when you go thru emissions?

I would like to know the solution so I can get rid of the SES light

I went to the pink wire that comes out of the relay box that turns on the 4l60e for both my reverse lockout and cags when I did mine but also came with CAGS! bypass so I know can use it if need to pass aims test if they start it in my county.
Have fun!

961LE,

Thanks for the info. I wonder if the fact that your OBDII made a difference?
I will contact him.

Thanks
