T56 Bearings

I'm rebuilding my T56 myself and I have a press. However even with a press I see no way of removing the tapered bearings without a bunch of not available special GM J Tools. Anyone rig up anything that worked. I'm about to throw in the towel and just have the bearings that I can't get off replaced at a shop.

Re: T56 Bearings

you need a bearing splitter. You can get a cheap crappy one at harbor freight. It IS crappy but it gets the job done! here is an example of what your looking for----http://http://www.mytoolstore.com/otc/1122.html Good luck.
