T56 to 4l60e Swap?

Re: T56 to 4l60e Swap?
Thats okay. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do. If my tranny should be able to hold 450 rwhp stock then I might just stay with it this time and put in a McLeod Street Twin or something. Can anyone direct me to an aftermarket/upgrade parts seller for the T56? I would like to know what I should get from this place, also. Thanks,

The PCM has to be reflashed with a 4L60E program. A dealer could do it (probably very expensive), or any of the mail-order tuners can do it.
More importantly, there can be mismatches between the specific year of the trans and specific year of the PCM that make them incompatible. But.... you have given us absolutely ZERO info about your car. So it's very hard to help you.

I suspect you could flash it yourself (tunerpro + eehack) using a bin file for the appropriate A4 equipped car - assuming it is a 1994 or 1995 model year. Pretty sure that just copying over the auto trans tables to your bin will not work out so good. Maybe ask over at gearhead-efi(.com).
FWIW the main difference is that '95+ year trans' used Pulse Width Modulation to engage the lockup clutch. Plenty of documentation out there on that topic.
