T/A mount options with TH400 conversion??'s

I'm in the process of installing a TH400 in my 94Z. I'm aware of all the parts needed to complete the swap, but have a few ??'s on the mounting of the stock style T/A. Currenlty I have a Random Tech Tubular adjustable T/A. I know that the TH400 does not have the tailshaft provision to mount the T/A in the stock location. I had "heard" that Mr. Gasket makes a tailshaft conversion kit for the LT1, but I have only found the kit for the 3rd gen (p/n 5500002). Has anyone found a kit specifically for the 4th gen? or will the 3rd gen kit work? I know that the other option is to go with a BMR Trak-pak, but I'd prefer to find a solution that would enable me to use my current Random Tech piece. What have you guys done and how do you like it? I've called BMR, but they do not make a kit for the Th400 and LT1, only the LS1. The only LT1 mount they have is for the P-glide.

Any help, thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Pete

Anyone?? There has to be someone on this board who has used the conversion kit for the tailshaft?

Re: T/A mount options with TH400 conversion??'s

I think most people who are making enough power to swap in a TH400 figure it doesn't make a lot of sense to keep the load of the torque arm on the tailshaft of the tranny, where it attempts to rip apart the tranny mount. There's a lot to be said for removing the load from its stock location.

You might want to check Madman & Company Racing... he might have a TH400 TA mount.

Re: T/A mount options with TH400 conversion??'s

Thanks Fred,

I agree with you on the load that is put on the tailshaft with the TA mount. Since my car will see more than 80% street duty, my swap to the TH400 is more due to the high rpm of my solid roller (reliability) than the load put on the tailshaft in a drag racing scenario. I guess I was just trying to see if there is a solution with the best of both worlds

Thanks for the reply,
Pete

I think you are referring to the following:

Like stated above I recommend just getting a body mounted TA. I prefer Spohn.
