Re: T-56 transmission Horse power Question Please help??
It's fine until you hook up.
On the motor with over 400 at the wheels I snapped my output shaft on a 4k clutch drop. Hooking up breaks parts really fast.
If you just plan on driving it a mild upgrade like syncros and shift forks should suffice. There have been quite a few people in the 700rw range that survive "reasonable" driving.
If your going to run a crazy clutch (street twin or Spec 4+) don't be suprised if you break something. As long as the tires spin you'll be fine.
A couple of people locally have gone 10s at near 130 with stock T56s. They are a hearty transmission, but like anything can be broken under the right circumstances.

I would suggest getting the extreme duty T-56 from FLP. www.flp2win.com. That's what I have.
Extreme Duty T-56
New synchro assemblies
Carbon fiber blocker rings
Steel 3/4 shift fork
Solid keys for 1-2 syncros
Solid keys for 3-4 syncros
Viper cryrogenically treated 30-spline main shaft
Machined tail shaft housing
30-spline 1350 yoke
