Talking T-5 / M5 Help?

Hi!
Brand new board member and brand new owner here of a 2001 Onyx Black Camaro 5 spd...

Since i've purchased the car it grinds in reverse. So I do the 5th to reverse thing which is excellent. However, I've noticed now that sometimes when I do 5th to reverse it goes halfway in reverse and gets STUCK. I can pull with both hands to try get it to engage but it will not go in, and I have to repeat the shifting process. If I press the clutch any farther I will have a new vent hole in the firewall.

Question 1: What would cause reverse to not go in all the way?

Question 2: Is it possible to put a t56 in my car? How would it bolt up? Would i have to put in new pedals, clutch line and that sort of stuff... What would be the gains of having a t56 other than more power and the coolfactor of a 6 spd 3.8. (I ask this because i just like cool projects)

Question 3: Would i have to change my rear end for the new tranny?

Question 4: Is it possible to ADD a synchro to reverse?

Question 5: Does the t56 have a synchro on the reverse gear?

I was not sure if this would qualify under V6 tech, I do apologize if it is an inconvenience.

Thanks,

Rex

Re: T-5 / M5 Help?

I dont know for sure but i dont think a T56 would bolt up to a 3.8. if it did you wouldn't have to change the rear, that i am sure of. i do know that it will not help the prefornance of your car. Just get your M5 fixed.
